Annotated paper:Matsuda K, et al. "Cbln1 is a ligand for an orphan glutamate receptor delta2, a bidirectional synapse organizer" Science. 2010 Apr 16;328(5976):363-8 PMID:20395510
Annotation description:Fig.2: "Cbln1 and the NTD of GluD2 cooperatively induce synaptogenesis in vitro and in vivo"
Presynapse formation onto GluD2 expressing HEK cells is perturbed in Cbln1 KO neurons. Effect is absent when truncated versions of GluD2 are used. Synapse formation is restored in Cbln1 KO mice after injection of HA-Cbln1 in WT animals, but not in GluD2 KO animals.
