Punctate eIF4E staining was prominent in dendritic shafts, but in only a subset of spines. @ PMID:14623964 Fig. 3 A) shows colocalisation of eIF4E and synapsin, even if the dots overlap only partially, i.e., more consistent with post-synaptic localisation.
