Annotation description:Homer1a is a short Homer1 isoform, upregulated in response to neuronal activity. This PMID demonstrates that Homer1a is cytosplasmic, and unlike the long isoforms, is NOT concentrated at the PSD. This was shown by biochemical fractionation (Fig1) and immuno-EM (Fig2)

9/3/2017 Pim:
- Important statement by the authors on Fig.2 "In contrast, Homer 1a label was dispersed in neuronal somal and **dendritic cytoplasm** with no affiliation with PSD" (emphasis added). Moreover, Fig.1 also show presence of homer1a in synapse preparation. Together these observations are used to justify the "postsynaptic" element in the selected SynGO term.
-Brain area that is featured in Fig.2 is unclear.
