| Annotation description: | Slitrks interact with PTPRS. Knock-down of PTPRS reduces excitatory synapse formation. 19/2/2018 Pim - PTPRS is a known presynaptic protein (see ticket #2246). It is shown to mediate cell-cell adhesion with SLITRK1,2,3 in a cell-adhesion assay (Fig.4A+B). SLITRK1,2,3 expressed in HEKcells is able to induce PTPRS mediated clustering of presynaptic (Synapsin1, VGLUT1, GAD67) but not postsynaptic (PSD-95) markers (Fig.4C+D). Note that PTPRS KD interferes with presynaptic differentiation by SLITRK1 and SLITRK2 of Glutamatergic synapses only. |
