Annotation description:Rationale: NLGN1; neuroligin 1 is a postsynaptic protein. Neurexin-1beta is a presynaptic protein (Fig.4, 6, 7). These proteins are shown to mediate cell-cell adhesion (Fig.2). Together this means that these proteins are involved in 'synapse adhesion between pre- and post-synapse (GO:0099560)'. The relevance of this interaction is shown in the ability of these two protein to be able to induce pre- and postsynaptic differentiation (Fig.6, 7 and ticket #2745).
