The referenced figures show an effect on synapse density. The authors state that CTTNBP2 afects both formation of new synapses and the maintenance of exisiting ones:
1. "Therefore, the experiments performed during DIV 12-18 favor a role of CTTNBP2 in **spinogenesis**"
2. "These data suggest that CTTNBP2 is likely also involved in the **maintenance of dendritic spines**"

The approporiate terms for these processed would be:
ad 1: 'regulation of synapse assembly (GO:0051963)'
ad 2: 'maintenance of synapse structure (term not in SynGO)'
