Figure(s):Fig 3B
Annotation description:Fig3B: Using Electron Microscopy, immunogold labelled GluD1 showed post-synaptic localisation opposite to inhibitory pre-synapse labelled by anti-vGAT staining using DAB (diaminobenzidine) labelling. GluD1 was detected in the post-synapse in a region lateral to the active zone and also in intracellular compartments. The EM was done in layer2/3 cortex of P21 mice.
(Fig S1A: The antibody was validated by western blotting, where the signal was not seen in cultured neurons treated with GluD1 shRNA.)

Additional literature:This paper uses Cryo-EM to determine the structure of rat GluD1, demonstrating that it has transmembrane, intracellular and extracellular domain. Hence, the protein is an integral part of the membrane. @ PMID:31925409
