Annotated paper:Kim JY, et al. "The RhoG/ELMO1/Dock180 signaling module is required for spine morphogenesis in hippocampal neurons" J Biol Chem. 2011 Oct 28;286(43):37615-24 PMID:21900250
Figure(s):Figure 1, 3, 4
Annotation description:Figure 1b, 3e: immunofluorescence imaging of hippocampal neurons stained for endogenous Dock180 (DOCK1) and PSD95 (DLG4) showed partial co-localization. Stainings of Dock180 were apposed to presynaptic synapsin-1 (SYN1). Overexpressed FLAG-Dock180 localized to dendrites and spines.

Figure 4: ELMO and Dock180 (DOCK1) form a complex in hippocampal neurons and function through activating Rac1. Overexpressed Dock180 increased spinogenesis.

Figure 5-7: RhoG is required for spine formation, its activation leads to increased spine head size and functions through the ELMO1/Dock180/Rac pathway.
