Annotation description:Studying excitatory hippocampal synapses, Fig. 2 shows that mEPSC amplitude is reduced upon neurexin-3ab deletion in neurons cultured from the hippocampus. Using cultured KO neurons, Fig. 3 shows that presynaptic neurexin-3ab deletion caused a selective trans-synaptic downregulation of postsynaptic AMPA-type glutamate receptors. Fig. 5 supports that presynaptic deletion of neurexin-3ab in vivo at CA1-subiculum synapses impairs postsynaptic AMPAR-mediated responses. No change in presynaptic release was observed.
