Annotation description:The authors use super-resolved tracking of a tagged Neurexin-1beta in live cultured hippocampal neurons. The results show that Neurexin-1beta sorts to presynaptic sites (Fig. 1), where it forms 1 to 2 nanoclusters per terminal while a dispersed population is additionally present in terminals (Fig. 1, 2, 3).

Additional literature:The authors performed super-resolved tracking of a Neurexin-1beta construct that was tagged differently than in the primary reference of this annotation. The results in Fig. 5 support that presynaptic sites contain Neurexin-1beta clusters in live cultured hippocampal neurons. @ PMID:26979420

Fig. 5 and Table 1 of this study support the localization of Neurexin-1beta to presynaptic membranes as determined by the biochemical sub-fractionation of synaptosomes and immunoblotting. @ PMID:17868325
