Annotation description:The study utilizes a newly made antibody against Calcium /Calmodulin kinase IV and studies the protein's localization in neuronal tissue using pre-embedding DAB staining for electron microscopy.
At the subcellular level, the authors report that Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV-like immunoreactivity appeared in the nuclei of neurons in the various brain regions, and immunopositive reactivity, although less strong, is also observed in dendritic processes, but axon terminals do not show immunoreactivity.
Figures 15-18 show profiles of axon terminals containing vesicles making synapses with immunoreactive dendrites. Figures 15, 16, 17 state that the staining is seen on microtubules.
